Mountains of the Lamb is a 501c3 nonprofit ministry located in Jacksonville Florida and have a powerful calling to walk alongside those serving time in juvenile and correctional facilities. We also fellowship and mentor to those in our local community. We are deeply rooted in the unconditional love of our Heavenly Father, and we offer a sense of community and support that is so vital for anyone facing challenges in their life where no Mountain is too big for the Lamb of God and with Jesus all things are possible.
We are committed to changing lives through our program that renew hearts, restore relationships, and cultivate holistic transformation—touching the heart, mind, body, soul, and spirit. Our ministry reminds every person that they are loved by the Father and that, with Him, every mountain can be overcome. We have seen lives transformed, relationships rebuilt, behaviors strengthened, and wisdom gained that equips individuals to make healthier choices and grow into leaders of purpose.
As another part of our mission, we also help individuals as they prepare to return to their communities after incarceration. Our re-entry support provides mentorship, discipleship, life coaching and practical guidance to help them navigate the challenges of starting over. We focus on strengthening faith, rebuilding relationships, developing life skills, and creating healthy habits that lead to long-term success. With Christ at the center, we help them step confidently into a restored, purposeful future.
Rejection doesn’t have the final word. We help individuals turn pain into growth, fear into faith, and rejection into resilience. We walk with them as they discover their identity in Christ and step boldly into the life God has prepared for them. We welcome you to join us—through volunteering, serving, or giving. Every person carries a powerful calling and testimony, and God uses each one to bring healing and hope to others.

Nick Akley is the founder of Mountains of the Lamb and was born and raised in Brooklyn NY before moving to Jacksonville FL in 1999 to achieve his culinary degree. Nick didn't realize how God was using him to serve others in so many different capacities. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Christian Leadership Ministry and brings over 15 years of experience serving in various volunteer roles across different areas of ministry and community. He also had the privilege to mentor and support the young athletes both on and off the field while coaching high school football. His journey through life has been marked by significant challenges and profound transformation. Growing up, he faced a multitude of adversities that could easily have defined his existence. From childhood abuse, and the trauma of a broken home to the chaotic embrace of street violence. He encountered various forms of abuse- mental, physical, emotional, spiritual, sexual and psychological. Each of the experience contributed to a complex narrative that at times felt insurmountable.
For many years, he found himself trapped in a cycle of despair, grappling with scars of his past. However, amidst the darkness, he encountered an unfathomable light-and his faith in God was strengthened. His spiritual awakening was not merely a moment; it was a life- altering event that ushered him into a new realm of hope, healing, and purpose. Nick discovered that he was not defined by his past, but rather, he is using the life experiences as a powerful testimony of resilience and redemption. Today, he is dedicated to sharing his story with those who find themselves in similar dark places. He believes that his experiences and testimony can resonate with others who are struggling, offering them a glimmer of hope and the possibility of transformation. His mission is to bring God's light to those in need of Jesus, reminding them that healing and redemption are attainable regardless of their circumstances.
Nick had the privilege of serving with various organizations and ministries that focus on reaching individuals who are marginalized or facing immense struggles. Through speaking engagements, mentoring, disciplining and one-on-one sessions, he has strived to provide support and encourage those who felt lost or broken. His experiences have equipped him with a unique perspective, allowing to connect with others on a deep level and foster an environment of trust and openness. In his professional endeavors, he focuses on creating safe spaces where individuals can openly share and find solace in shared experiences and aims to empower others to reclaim their narratives and embark on their journey of healing. He firmly believes that everyone has the capacity for change and that our past does not have to dictate our future.
As he continues to navigate this fulfilling path and calling to prison fellowship, and is inspired by the countless stories of triumph and resilience around him, he remains committed to serving with compassion and purpose. He is grateful for the opportunity to serve as a beacon of hope for those who are still searching for their way out of darkness. If our story and testimony of what the Lord has done for us can illuminate even a small fraction of someone else's path, then anything is possible. Through his unwavering faith and commitment to serve as he aspires to advocate for those whose voices often go unheard. Your invited to join his mission of healing, hope, and faith, as together we can shine a light in the darkest places and bring forth changes in the lives of many through Jesus Christ. "No Mountain is too Big for the Lamb of God" and with Jesus all things are possible.
